Back to the Caribbean
So I recently became a First Mate (travel advisor) for Virgin Voyages! And once I finished all the training, they offered me a FREE cruise. So me and my bestie are headed back out to sea. (There will be a few more cruises this year… hopefully more than currently planned.)
We’re headed out on the Scarlett Lady to the Dominican and I’m super excited. While I’ve been all over the Caribbean, this will be my first time cruising on Virgin Voyages and the amenties offered are unlike anything I’ve experienced on a cruise before…
No buffets (cause why?), only made to order food (less waste)
FREE Wifi throughout the ship (cause there’s someone you need to check on)
Very reasonably priced drinks (and there’s usually some sort of Bar Tab offer)
Tips already included on everything (including room attendents and bartenders)
Exclusive excurtions curated just for Virgin (no big box touring for me)
Early morning arrivals, late departures and overnight stays at various destinations (spoiler alert: including overnight in Ibiza, which we’ll talk about in another post - cause we’re going there too!)
and the best part (for my childless self) it’s ADULTS ONLY!
Like, tell me I’m about to have a great time without telling me I’m about to have a great time. Cause how could I not?
Pre global crisis, cruising was one of my favorite ways to travel for a number of reasons…
See multiple places and never have to change hotel rooms? I’ll take it!
Pre-planned tours to make sure I see more than the port? I’ll take it!
Sea days were my favorite! Nothing to do, but lounge and drink? I’ll take it!
And I can’t forget, watching people chasing the ship because they thought it wouldn’t leave without them?! I’LL TAKE IT!!!
(I swear I’m not mean, but that is just hilarious every single time.)
Before being introduced to Virgin Voyages, I’d been on multiple other cruise lines and had a couple favorites. But I can’t see me going back, especially if they continue to expand.
And if you need a more family-friendly option, just let me know! I have connections on that too, of course.
